Lyn Bowtell

“She has one of the most amazing voices in this country, I love this beautiful woman and her talent” – Kasey Chambers“

“If anything, Bowtell is a little too good, as a singer she demands a response even when she is just singing a straight pop song, and when Bowtell is pulling you in deep her voice is like a tantalising quicksand“— Iman lababedi, Rock NYC Live and Recorded.

LYN BOWTELL first came to prominence as songwriter and singer for multi award winning Country Pop trio BELLA, since then she has released two critically acclaimed albums, ’SECRET SONGS‘ (WJO) in 2012, and ‘HEART OF
SORROW‘ (Maven/Sony) in 2014.

An innovative and creative songwriter Lyn defies musical constraint and easy classification, with influences reaching from pure Country to Blues, Jazz and Pop, Lyn has her own distinctive voice and musical identity.

Lyn’s new release ‘CALLING YOU’ marks a distinct departure in musical style from her roots in alternative/pop country, brimming with the singer’s soulful, striking vocals and connecting deeply with raw emotion, highlighting the sublime and powerful voice that turned heads and 4 red chairs on national television in Channel Nine’s THE VOICE AUSTRALIA‘ earlier this year.

Now the SIX TIME GOLDEN GUITAR WINNER is heading in a new musical direction, with a broader, larger audience ready to follow.

Bowtell explains, “I’m no longer willing to be confined in a ‘genre box’, I want to show a wider audience my full range as a singer and songwriter. I feel so connected to ‘Calling You’, the songs are bright, bold and exciting and I can’t wait to share them!”.

Lyn Bowtell is a Toyota Star Maker winner, MO Award winner, a six-time Golden Guitar winner, a 2013 APRA Song of The Year finalist and was nominated for two Golden Guitars in the 2013 Country Music Awards for ‘Best Female Artist’ and ‘Best Alternative Album of the Year’ for ‘Secret Songs’.

Lyn was further nominated for three Golden Guitars in the 2015 Country Music Awards for ‘Best Female Artist’, ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’ and ‘Best Alternative Country Album of the Year’ winning a Golden Guitar in the ‘Best Alternative Country Album of the Year’ category for ‘Heart of Sorrow’.

In 2017 Lyn was nominated for seven Golden Guitars awards, five with Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart and two for ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’, winning two with Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart for ‘Best Alternative Country Album’ and ‘Group or Duo of the Year’ and one herself for ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’.
